Stepping out SE19 style

Have you been following #ShopSE19s dining round-ups on Instagram?

Our local hospitality businesses need YOU this Summer. Pavement licences and awnings are go! They've all worked so hard to create welcoming outdoor spaces and socially-distant dining indoors, now we're allowed back inside.

If you can't travel, then you can dine your way around the globe without leaving SE19. If you wanted to, you could go to a different cafe or restaurant every day for over a month...

Now, there's a summer holiday challenge!

We've rounded up the street-by-street hospitality round-ups in one handy, accessible blog post.

Get looking. Get booking.

Thank you to the intrepid team at Social Style Pro for crafting the original Instagram posts for ShopSE19 and to all the bars, cafes and restaurants who answered our questions while they were busy with their reopening plans.

Westow Street Treats

Let's start our journey around the Triangle with our Westow Street restaurants.

Westow Hill Dining

Westow thrills start at Dem round the corner on Central Hill.

Eats on Church Road & Crystal Palace Parade

And, onto the third side of the Triangle with more food and drink options.

Our local Al Fresco options: Cafes

We emerged from lockdown in April with a round-up of all the places you could sit outside. Local councils have granted special pavement licences until September 2021 for many of our local cafes and restaurants.

and a selection of SE19 Pubs, with outdoor space

Beer gardens and pubs with food? Read on for our tips.

Of course, post lockdown dining at The Alma Church Road, earned column inches and praise from restaurant reviewer Grace Dent.

...If you're in the mood for a stroll for your meal and pint, we need to mention The Conquering Hero (with famous Frances Bacon their in-house pig), The Bridge House, Penge at the South side of Crystal Palace Park and the Dulwich Woodhouse.

Bookmark and share this blog post! And support our locals.

And have a think about that epic 30-day challenge. It doesn't have to be consecutive days!...Or maybe make a tag team and try as many local places as you can this summer. We'd love to know what you think, eat and drink.

If you own or manage a local cafe, bar or restaurant in SE19 and would like to feature in a future #ShopSE19 blog post or newsletter, please get in touch (
