Thank you so much to the large team that have worked so hard to bring a Christmas Tree to our community this December.
The lighting ceremony on Saturday 7th December, was a magical treat and brilliantly supported by people of all ages from around Crystal Palace, with beautiful carols from Palace Acappella Choir. Santa himself made room in his busy schedule to switch on the lights and thank the whole community team.
This initiative has been driven by Crystal Palace Festival and Friends of Gipsy Hill with so many extra generous contributions from local businesses and community groups. Special thanks to The Secret Garden for donating our majestic tree, which now stands between Brown & Green and The Alma. We've heard of getting toiletries for Christmas, now we've got a toilet tree of our own (ho ho ho! Bad Santa joke).
Thank you so much for the extra backing from local Councillors: Stephen Mann, Pat Ryan and Nina Degrads (pictured above) for making this whole thing possible, Noreen & Graham and the Festival team and Fran Bernstein for donning his now legendary planning (elf!) hat.
Come and gather round the tree on 12th & 19th December and expect some more magical musical interludes during #SE19Lates evenings.
