New Kids on the Blog, 2021

... they're popping-up all around SE19: we thought new businesses, arriving in Crystal Palace during the last 12-months, deserved a special longer #ShopSE19 round-up feature. We're also hoping to learn and share more about them individually now that restrictions are easing. We are definitely up for it and hope you are too!

We've already talked about Colairo's who landed on Westow Street, just before we started moving up the tiers. We're so looking forward to being able to get back inside for sit-down treats, in May.

There are so many more to discover... In unprecedented times, it feels like an unprecedented number of new ventures are opening up in Crystal Palace. We wish them all the very best.

Together with our Shop SE19 Instagram partners Social Style Pro, we have compiled a visual tour of what's new around the Triangle. Starting clockwise from the Vicars Oak at the top of Crystal Palace Park, we have over a dozen businesses to introduce to you. Take some time to explore and do give them a welcoming follow. A thumbs-up or heart-shaped high-five on social media are always appreciated.

Most of these new businesses have a presence on Instagram, where you can check out more about their products and services using the links below. Better still, venture up the hill and check them out in-person and pay a call into some of your longstanding favourites too.

Welcome to Church Road

Swinging onto Westow Street, we welcome:

  • Varanda* - featuring vibrant outdoor bar area and street food

  • Elia The Authentic Greek - Greek deli counter and groceries

  • Haven Wellness - natural healthcare, apothecary, treatments and classes

  • Real Nappy Life - reusable nappies and family cafe

  • There's a Blue Door Bicycles revival, round the corner on Central Hill: repairs/servicing and e-bikes

  • Free The Gallery at Haynes Lane has rebooted too, with an exciting programme of weekend events and creative showcases coming up; together with a whole host of fresh and exciting traders and showrooms downstairs at Haynes Lane Vintage (open Thurs to Sun).

*read a recent My London feature on Varanda here.

Westow Hill has all these fabulous newbies to explore:

  • La Amazonas - whole foods, GF bakery and refills

  • The Vaults Collective - lush plants, succulents, vegan cakes and coffee

  • Bloom Cafe - all day cafe, with pavement tables and take-away

  • Escape - Caribbean tapas and cocktails. Try out with Uber Eats delivery, until they reopen indoors w/c 17 May.

  • Pizzaholics - smart new refit for take-outs/deliveries and when the time comes: dine-in

More exciting news to come with further refurbs on the horizon: reopenings and more brand new businesses opening as restrictions ease further.
