Four whole days to kick back and spend a little extra time enjoying Crystal Palace, if you're staying local this week and for the long weekend. How are we marking the occasion here in SE19?
The good news is many local businesses will be open for the four days as normal, so you won't be short of a pub garden, cafe, restaurant or high street shop to celebrate extra time off and the start of a new month.

Pop-up Bunting!
We think it's all looking very summery and adds a little something to our high streets. Luckily, it's all-weather proof!
We wanted to say a big thank you to all businesses supporting Shop SE19's big bulk buy of community bunting. Opting to add a hint of red, white and blue to their windows and interiors this week are Budgens, Crystal Eye Centre, Merlin Shoes, Mrs Robinson, A L'Etage 2, The Sparrowhawk, Backstage, Fishmonger's Plaice, Haven Wellness, Way Ahead, Sefgrove, Decorum, The Secret Garden, Craft & Courage, The Indigo Tree, GMs, Blackbird Bakery, Crystal Palace Food Market, Josephine's, Colairo's, Varanda, Urban Cellar, The Paxton Centre and DSolo's - who were all quick to leap in and support. Cheers guys!
Big-ups to the beautiful businesses chipping-in for some extra on-street bunting. We love you! Budgen, Coopers, Merlin Shoes, Mrs Robinson, A L'Etage 2, The Sparrowhawk, Haven Wellness, Sefgrove, Four Boroughs, Nama, Colairo's, The Paxton Centre and Varanda.
Don't worry, there's still time to support if you are a local business or a resident, read on...
Yes. We're supporting a great cause too!
A very special thank you to Andy Scholes and 1st Crystal Palace Scouts and leaders who are helping to install extra outdoor bunting at the Sainsbury's Green and other outdoor locations around SE19.
The Scouts are raising funds to support their charity expedition to the Gambia. Can you help us thank them for their time by donating to their fundraising appeal.
The 1st Crystal Palace Scouts are fundraising to go and build new school facilities in the Gambia. There are 5 leaders and 28 Explorer Scouts currently each raising £1000 each by working in the local community and then heading to Gunjur to provide a lasting legacy to the school and local Scouts there.
If you could support the fundraising efforts that would be very much appreciated and help strengthen the link between Crystal Palace and the Gambia through the worldwide family of scouting.
Reuse + Recycle
It wouldn't be Crystal Palace without a community sustainability story. Would it?
Why buy (bunting) when you can borrow, after all?
We're pleased to say that our flexy weather-proof on-street bunting will get a second lease of life at Gipsy Hill's July Village Fete on 10th July 2022. Shop SE19 is a proud sponsor this year.
We chose our supplies very carefully. Our bunting won't date, it's not nation or event specific, so it can get re-used for different festive occasions.
And, we really thought this through: it comes in CPFC colours too. Eagles!
If you have a summer community event happening after 10th July and need bunting, we might have you covered. Just let us know. All we ask, is you keep it tangle-free and in good shape to pass on to another local community event (and give ShopSE19, our indie traders and the Scouts a shout-out).
Let's keep that community bunting love flowing in 2022.
